Getting younger here with a jersey from the World Junior Championships. Spain in general has been making some great strides with their programs. They joined the IIHF on March 10, 1923 and currently rank #30 for men's in the world, #25 for women's in the world, and reside in Division I Group B for men's IIHF tournaments. This jersey is from the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship Division II Group A. The tournament would be hosted by Romania taking place in Brasov. Spain would do alright tournament coming in 4th, out of 6, with a record of 2-0-1-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L). Italy would end up winning the tournament with Korea taking 2nd and Great Britain taking 3rd.
This jersey was game worn during the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship Division II Group A. Being in the lower divisions, the jersey would be made of Tackla's Airknit material which was very soft, form fitting, and includes a tie down fight strap. The IIHF logo would be sublimated on the front neck area and the IIHF main logo would be sublimated on the back bottom hem. Still young in his career, Mikel Zuniga has represented Spain at the junior level and is making strides to join the senior team. Born in Spain, Zuniga has grown playing in the Spanish leagues with C.H. Huarte which is a development team in Spain. After being named captain for his last two seasons, he's recently signed with CHH Txuri-Urdin in the Liga Nacional de Hockey Hielo (National Ice Hockey League), which is the top league in Spain. Zuniga has represented Spain twice at the junior level in 2022 and 2023.
