The Netherlands have been falling slowly in the standings with the IIHF. They joined the IIHF on January 20, 1935 and currently rank #29 for men's in the world, #17 for women's in the world, and reside in Division I Group B for men's IIHF tournaments. This jersey is from the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A. The tournament would be hosted by the Netherlands taking place in Tilburg. The Netherlands would do alright tournament coming in 4th, out of 6, with a record of 1-1-0-3 (W-OTW-OTL-L). Austria would end up winning the tournament, being promoted to the top division, with Ukraine taking 2nd and Japan taking 3rd.

This jersey was worn during games against Ukraine losing 2-9, Lithuania winning 4-1, and Austria losing 1-4. This jersey style would be worn for IIHF tournaments from 2009-2014. Peter van Biezen has represented the Netherlands a lot and has had a pretty good professional career. Born in Tilburg, Netherlands, van Biezen has only played with his hometown team, the Tilburg Trappers. With this team he's won five championships in the top Dutch league, the Eredivisie, and has won seven Dutch Cup competitions. He's represented the Netherlands 10 times in IIHF World Championships winning bronze in 2005 and 2012. He would retire in 2018. The 2010 tournament was the first and last time van Biezen wore the "A". During the tournament, van Biezen would play 5 games while scoring 2 goals, 2 assists, collecting 8 PIMs, and finishing -4 overall.
