I first got the travel bug when my family was able to trace our roots and reconnect with our distant relatives overseas. Did you know Peter Forsberg is a God in Sweden? Anyway, after the initial trip and having lived in Illinois my entire life, I've made it a goal to try and travel to as many different countries as I can. Once I got my Blackhawks collection up to speed, I turned my attention towards national teams. This has probably been the most fun I've had collecting jerseys as I've been able to connect with people and organizations around the world.
The IIHF started in 1908 and has overseen most international hockey tournaments. They hold a World Championship tournament every year for men's, women's, and junior teams. The top division uniforms are made by Nike and the rest of the divisions are made by Tackla. In this section, I'll be showing the men's national team away (preferably) jersey of every country I've traveled too as well as a little information about the player and organization behind it. Pretty much all of these are game worn or game/team issued jerseys as most national team jerseys are not made for retail. |
